PROGRAM
Day 1  (Thursday)    6th August 2015             Arrival Chengdu       [-/-/D]

Participants shall touch down in Chengdu International airport, China via our various flights from various countries. For those who are flying with the instructor, meet at Singapore Changi Airport at 10.45am and depart for Chengdu via Silkair MI936 direct flight. Touch down Chengdu International airport at 5.20pm.    All shall be received at 5.20pm and check in to hotel. Free and easy for the night. Overnight in Chengdu
 
Day 2  (Friday)    7th August 2015            _ Chengdu - Serxu      [B/L/D]
Early morning we shall depart for the airport for the internal flight to YuShu airport. We shall depart for YuShu via China Eastern MU5281 at 6.35am and reach YuShu at 8.10am. We shall proceed to Serxu by 4 wheel drive with average 3 pax to a car. Reach Serxu at noon for lunch. Afternoon we shall rest in the hotel and free and easy while we acclimatize to the high altitude. You are advised to consume the Tibetan Red Ginseng one month prior to the trip and standby Diamox pills. Normal people in general are able to acclimatize within 1 to 2 days. We may also visit some of the local shops for some souvenirs and candid photography. Overnight in Serxu
 

Day 3  (Saturday)    8th August 2015              Serxu                 [B/L/D]

After breakfast, we shall visit one of the monasteries and photograph its architecture as well as the monks in prayers. After lunch, we shall photograph the shepherd lifestyle and followed by photograph the Tibetan thangka drawing master at work. Along the way expect to see some splendid scenery. Overnight in Serxu
 
 
 
Day 4  (Sunday)    9th August 2015               Serxu___   _     [B/L/D]
After breakfast, we shall visit one of the monasteries and photograph the life of the Tibetan monks at prayer, activities and rest. After lunch, we shall visit a local household where we can experience the local way of life, followed by photography in one very ancient temple. We wrap up the day with photography at some of the handicraft shops where the masters are at work. Overnight in Serxu
 

 
Day 5  (Monday)    10th August 2015          Serxu - Chengdu            [B/L/-]
Morning we shall check out of hotel after breakfast. We depart Serxu for Chengdu at 9am via China Eastern MU5282 and reach Chengdu at 10.30am. Proceed for lunch and followed by check in to hotel. We shall spend the afternoon at own leisure at WuHouChi which is of historical value especially for the Shu kingdom of the Three Kingdoms era. Next to WuHouChi is the ancient Jingli Street where you can get lots of candid shots, street stalls, local handicraft. You may have your own dinner at one of the local eateries of your choice and enjoy the local food cuisines. Jingli Street at night is unique with puppet show and some performance. Day 6  (Tuesday)    11th August 2015          Chengdu                    [B/L/D]
After breakfast we shall depart for PengZheng to photograph the very very old tea houses. Here you can find some locals spending their morning having their tea sessions. Many award winning shots have been taken here. Lunch in PengZheng. Afternoon continue photographing the locals in the tea houses. Back to Chengdu. Overnight in Chengdu
 


 
Day 7  (Wednesday)    12th August 2015        Chengdu - Singapore        [B/L/-]
Free and Easy, relax for the day. You may visit some souvenir stores nearby, enjoy the foot reflexology or have coffee with your travel mates. We can also have a sharing session in the morning and share some of our favourite photos. We reach airport at 4pm. For those flying with the instructor, we depart for Singapore at 6.25pm via Silkair MI935 and reach Singapore Changi International airport at 11.25pm. Home sweet home.
 
Note: The program may change should there be major changes in weather condition, and alternative photography arrangement will be made.

You shall arrange your own air tickets based on where you depart, as we will have participants from various parts of the world and some of you may have your frequent flyer points.We shall meet in Chengdu International Airport on the 6th August at 5.20pm.

Halal Meals
We can only provide no pork/lard meals for the Muslim passengers during the trip with the exception when on board flight where Halal meals/Kosher meals are available at own expense.
 
Cancellation Charges
Fees paid are non-refundable for this trip, as we need to pay for and secure the logistics especially the internal flights prior to this peak season. Please purchase your own travel insurance in case of cancellation due to natural disaster or sympathy reasons. You may have the option to bring forward the credit from this trip to the next trips in the event if you cannot go but such notice must be made to PhotoVivo at least 2 weeks prior to departure except for sympathy cases, and such cases are subjected to the nature of the need for your postponement.
 
******* ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Steven Yee Pui Chung
Steven Yee is a celebrated Professional Travel photographer and a full time photography lecturer. He is an Associate Faculty Lecturer at SIM University lecturing on two core compulsory photography modules in the Multimedia and Technology Design Degree program. He is also one of the youngest to be conferred the Fellowship of the prestigious Royal Photographic Society UK in 2003 at age 24. Being a passionate photography educator, he teaches at Knowledge Bowl school of photography and practices his trade in travel photography with assignments from travel magazines. As founder of PhotoVivo, he runs the annual PhotoVivo Singapore International Photography Award (PIPA) and organises overseas photography trip monthly. Recently, he was engaged by ArtScience Museum to conduct a series of portraiture photography workshops in conjunction with Annie Leibovitz’s exhibition in Singapore. His pictures have been published in Discovery Magazine, Silkwind inflight magazines and others. He covered an environmental documentary story “Delhi The Dump” with Mediacorp. Some of his works form part of the permanent collection in the contemporary section at the International Photography Museum (MIF) in Spain and he was featured in Discover Nikon gallery as one of the finest in Asia.
